Our Story...

Big League Youth Baseball Academy was founded in 2008 by owner and former professional baseball player, Rod Allen Jr.   Coach Rod wanted to provide baseball training to the youth in and around his hometown of Culver City at a higher level than what was currently being offered by local club teams.  Believing that consistent one on one training with inside knowledge of the game will yield results, Coach Rod is dedicated to seeking out and nurturing the talent in all of your young athletes, no matter their skill level.  Over the years, the academy has grown dramatically, along with the success and achievements of many of Coach Rod's talented young players.  Several of his long time clients have gone on to play for varsity high school teams as Freshmen and some have even aged out of his program to play at the collegiate level.

In 2012 we added softball training to our program and rebranded as Big League Youth Baseball & Softball Academy.  We have recruited some of the best talent from all over the country to help coach our young softball athletes.  All of our softball coaches are former or current collegiate players and because of our staff's dedication, knowledge, and their own love of the game, both our baseball and softball training programs have become well renowned in West LA and beyond.  In 2018 we added training programs in Long Beach and Las Vegas, and we're proud to announce BLYBSA batting cages are coming soon to West LA!
